New World

New World

Chapter 1

She walked down the hall holding a medium sized beige purse and wheeling a luggage right behind her. She wore a blue plaid skirt and white-collared button down shirt. Her long brown curly hair was loose and bouncy, with her sunglasses planted at the top of her head pushing back her bangs. She walked, the noise from her heels turning heads towards her every where she stepped. Headed for the train she was ready and confident.
She was ready and confident for the new world she was going to be in for four years of her life.
"Next stop, Berlington Heights High School." ...

She thought to herself, "Yes, this is it. A new beginning. Its finally here. I’m ready". Her hands clenched her beige purse and the handle of the luggage now next to her where she stood inside the train car. The train began moving, leaving the home she knew for years behind. She stared out the window at the ocean that looked so beautiful at that moment and sighed smiling. She seemed so happy and confident on the outside, but inside was a battle of emotions that made her feel nausea, and light headed. Was she truly ready?

"I heard there’s a new girl coming. She transferred from Ellington High School." Dave told Sally, sitting outside on a bench as he texted his friends on his sidekick.
"Oh really?" Sally responded, trying to sound as interested as possible. She was too bored to even care at the moment.

"Yeah. There’s rumors that she used to party a lot, and drink. The school supposedly expelled her because of stripping down with some guy in the halls behind a corner. At least that’s what I heard." Dave said sarcastically. By the sound of his voice it was obvious that he probably exaggerated the things he was told quite a bit.

"Do you know her name?" Sally asked, looking up at the sky as the wind blew her hair.
"Cassie Ferman." Dave said as he continued to read the text messages he just received on his sidekick.
"Cassie Ferman, huh? Maybe she’ll be interesting..." Sally said, now looking at her nails.
Dave mumbled a yeah and continued on with his text world. Sally just continued staring at her black nails thinking perhaps this ‘Cassie Ferman’ would be a fun person to have around.

"Berlington Heights...."

This piece is really suspensful... I am wondering whether your protagonist will be the bored girl looking at her nails, or the new girl... Can't wait for the next chapter!
