The Tiny Soul

(dedicated to my baby sister, Natalia)

Look at that little one,
crawling around.
In two seconds,
she's nowhere to be found.

So cute and chubby,
no one can resist.
And her smile,
those two small teeth can't be missed.

So adorable,
her eyes gleam with joy.
And that pretty laugh,
when playing with her toy.

When she walks into a room,
all eyes turn to her.
Then she claps with her small hands,
and the crowd loves her.

The way she talks,
like an angel with poise,
but sometimes she turns into her mischievous self,
and that voice turns into noise.

Of course, she's little
and must be watched with care,
but it's the love and joy that
the tiny soul shares.

Is this an ode to an actual baby sister? If so, print this out, put it in an envelope, seal it, and give this to her when she is your age. Wow. That would be really cool.

Ms. Walsh,

Yes, this poem is actually for my 10-month-old baby sister. Also, thank you for the idea of giving this poem to sister. I should do that.
